The May Election will be a Special Election (Issues only), with no candidate races appearing on the ballot.

Voter Registration Deadline:

Voter registration and information updates will close on April 7th, 2025. The office will be open until 9 p.m. to accept registrations and updates. Registrations and updates will continue to be accepted in-person and online during the election, but will be held for entry until the election is certified.

Early In-Person and Absentee-By-Mail Info and Deadlines:

We will begin accepting absentee ballot applications for 2025 Elections on January 1st, 2025.

Early in-person voting for the May 6, 2025 Special Election will begin on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 8 a.m.

If you requested an absentee ballot by mail, April 8th is the first day that absentee ballots will be mailed and they will be mailed each day for new applications that are received.

  • Absentee ballot applications will be accepted until April 29th at 8:30 p.m.
  • Absentee ballots being returned by mail will need to be postmarked by May 5th and received not later than May 10th to be countable.
  • If you are returning a ballot in person, it will need to be returned to the Board of Elections office or drop box not later than 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. Absentee ballots CANNOT be returned to polling locations.

Please note that due to recent changes, if you are returning an absentee ballot other than your own, you cannot place it in the drop box; you must return it in the office and complete an affidavit attesting that you are either a member of the voter’s family or the caretaker of a voter with a disability.

Election Day Voting:

Election Day will be Tuesday, May 6th. The polls will be open for voting from 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

There is no voting at the County Services Building on Election Day. You must vote at your polling location:

Voter Identification:

An unexpired ID containing the voter’s name and photograph is required to vote. The following forms of ID are acceptable under Ohio law:

  • Ohio driver’s license, state ID card, or interim documentation issues by the Ohio BMV. A digital driver’s license is not valid. *An old address is permissible as long as the ID has not expired.
  • A United States passport or passport card.
  • A U.S. military ID card, Ohio National Guard ID card, or US Department of Veterans Affairs ID.
